Administrator's Message
Dear Scanlon Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! The first day of school is Thursday August 13, 2026. Students will attend class Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 1:00pm. We will be holding a meet-and greet event on Wednesday August 12 from 1:00 - 2:15pm to allow students and families to meet Scanlon staff and take a sneak peek in their classrooms. We hope you can join us for this event.
As we begin the school year, I wanted to highlight a few reminders and updates:
- Parking Restrictions- Parking in the school parking lot is reserved for staff only. When dropping your children off, please park on Alhambra Road and walk your child onto campus via the pedestrian gate. You may also use our valet drop-off in the morning. Valet drop off entrance is on Garfield Avenue.
- Disaster Food Packets-It is very important that your child has enough food and water if a disaster ever struck our community. Please prepare a gallon-sized re-sealable plastic bag with your child’s name on it and fill it with dry, non-perishable food and water such as energy bars, crackers, fruit bars and other items with a long shelf life.
- Emergency Card Information, Health Update - Please notify the office and/or the school nurse if there have been any recent changes in your child’s health which is extremely important for your child’s safety. Your child will also be receiving our blue Emergency I.D. Card which is crucial in identifying to whom your child may be released in the event of an emergency. We will not be able to release your child to anyone who is not identified on the card. Make sure to return the card to your child’s teacher.
- Please visit our updated Scanlon Early Education Center website for information and a schedule of events this school year at www.moorfield.org
I am looking forward to continuing to work with Scanlon families and getting to know you all. Together we will continue to build a community that will create independent, confident, and successful learners. I am also dedicated to maintaining a safe school environment for all of our students. Should you have any questions, concerns, or have any input for me you are always welcome to contact me. You may email or call me at [email protected] or (626) 943-3562.
Sincerely,
Dr. Angie Juárez
